Hello everyone,
I usually create something and then get feedback, but this time I figured I would reverse it. So my question is would there be any suggestions, even for the name of something that creates tag like buttons from the list field of a tiddler that change color when clicked? If a certain color, then would reveal text from that tiddler if it exists. Or am I trying to reinvent the wheel? Any suggestions?

Andrew,

I have seen nothing like that, but I am shure I have not seen everything in tw5 yet.

what do you hope such a feature to do for you or represent on tidders with such a feature.

I have been considering the idea of using a field to indicate tags (From available tags) to display in the view template so that you can simply toggle them.

further allow you to select one (or), or one or more (And) from a set of possible tags. the tags can have a colour set so it may approach what you are asking for.

I want a generic solution to setting a tiddlers status, project name and more.

what is your use case?

I am still a way from making this happen.

regards
tony

At work I currently use my http://t5a.tiddlyspot.com/#Toggle%20Sheet when taking phone calls because often there are things discussed that are repetative so a button is quicker than even short hand but I was planning on redoing it since it was created before lists and filters. It also wasn't dynamic enough and is hard to change because it uses multiple tiddlers for the different colors of the buttons. Things change alot at my job so I am finding that changing the buttons is taking to much time so I need a smarter toggle sheet.

The person you need ask about this is probably Stephen Kimmel. Its not so
widely known he has developed multiple types of "toggling" for TW. I'll
alert him to your message.

Best wishes

As Josiah mentioned, I have worked on something I call togglers.
http://togglers.tiddlyspot.com/ contains my most recent efforts in that
arena.

It has a good number of button styles which toggle entries that may be date
dependent and have a varying number of states.

Perhaps, Andrew, it would prove useful to you.
